La Torre Velasca, vista dalla base, facendosi largo fra gli edifici che la circondano. Realizzata in pieno centro negli anni ’50 dal gruppo BBPR (gli architetti Banfi, Belgiojoso, Peressutti e Rogers), è un diventata un monumentale e controverso simbolo della città. Qualche tempo fa è stata dirittura definita uno degli edifici più brutti al mondo dal Daily Telegraph. Non sono d’accordo, l’unica cosa che mi dispiace è che un terzo sia vuoto e che la torre sia in vendita in un momento di futuro incerto, anche per i beni storici della città. Voi cosa ne pensate?

Buit in the city centre in the Fifties by the group BBPR (the architects Banfi, Belgiojoso, Peressutti e Rogers), it’s become a monumental and controversial symbol of Milano. A while ago it has been defined as one of the ugliest buildings in the world, by the Daily Telegraph. I disagree, the only thing that worries me it that one third of the building is on vacancy and that the tower is for sale in a moment of uncertain future, even for the city’s historic goods.
